SQUL Technology Private Limited ("SQUL", "we", "us", "our") operates https://squltech.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have over it.

We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

By using this website or placing an order, you consent to the practices described below.


1. Data We Collect

Information you give us directly

  • Name, email address, phone number
  • Billing address, shipping address, pincode
  • Order details, product preferences, and purchase history
  • Account credentials (password stored in hashed form only)
  • Communications you send us — emails, WhatsApp messages, support tickets, product reviews
  • GSTIN and business name, where you request a GST invoice
  • Bank account details, only when a refund on a COD order is being processed

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser type, device type, operating system
  • Pages viewed, time on page, referring URL, and clickstream within the site
  • Cookies and similar identifiers (see Section 6)

Information from third parties

  • Payment status and transaction reference from our payment gateway
  • Delivery status, attempt logs, and RTO data from courier partners
  • Aggregated advertising and analytics data from platforms such as Google and Meta

We never collect or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or net banking credentials. All payment data is captured directly by our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway.

3. Who We Share Data With

We share data only to the extent necessary, with:

  • Shopify Inc. — our e-commerce platform and hosting provider
  • Payment gateways — to process transactions and refunds
  • Courier and logistics partners — name, address, and phone number for delivery
  • Communication providers — email, SMS, and WhatsApp service providers for order updates
  • Analytics and advertising platforms — Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and similar tools, in pseudonymised form where possible
  • Professional advisers — accountants and legal counsel, where required
  • Government authorities — where disclosure is required by law, court order, or a valid investigative request

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for their own marketing.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside India. Where that happens, we ensure the transfer is permitted under applicable Indian law and that appropriate contractual safeguards are in place.


4. Data Retention

  • Order and invoice records: retained for 8 years as required under GST and Companies Act record-keeping rules
  • Account data: retained while your account is active, and for a reasonable period after closure
  • Support correspondence: up to 3 years
  • Marketing data: until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe
  • Website analytics: typically 26 months

Once retention periods lapse and no legal obligation remains, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.


5. Security

We use SSL/TLS encryption across the site, restricted role-based access to order data, hashed password storage, and periodic review of our systems and vendors. Payment processing is delegated entirely to PCI-DSS compliant gateways.

No method of transmission or storage is fully secure. While we apply reasonable security practices as required under Section 43A of the IT Act, 2000, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.


6. Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart and session active, remember preferences, measure site performance, and — with your consent — deliver relevant advertising.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will break checkout and account login.


7. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to:

  • Access — request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed
  • Correction — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
  • Erasure — request deletion of data we no longer need for a lawful purpose
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
  • Nominate — appoint another person to exercise these rights in the event of your death or incapacity
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us before approaching the Data Protection Board of India

To exercise any of these rights, email grievance@squl.in from your registered email address. We respond within 30 days. We may ask for verification before acting on a request, and some data must be retained where a statutory obligation applies.

To stop marketing messages, use the unsubscribe link in any email or reply STOP to any WhatsApp/SMS message. Transactional messages about your orders will continue.


8. Children

This store is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe a child has shared data with us should contact grievance@squl.in.


9. Third-Party Links

Our site may link to external websites, including brand and manufacturer pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies before sharing data with them.


10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered customers.
